Overview of Degree Requirements
Proper instruction is required to give you a depth and breadth of knowledge, wisdom and understanding from which to operate. Practice are required to give you chance to work out what you are learning on the anvils of real life, in order to discover how to integrate knowledge. Taken throughout your educational process, these will help you gain a variety of experiences in many areas.
Little real-life learning is acquired without real-life experience. Therefore practica are critically important to the overall learning process. Make it your commitment and determination to practice what you’ve learned because practice make your learning permanent.
It should be noted that our courses are designed to be completed in self pace based. You can chose what work best for you. GHarvard Christian University, permission to graduate in your own term.
GHarvard Christian University offers certificate programs in each of our major concentrations. These can be considered specialized training since the student is taking only courses which train for skill in a specific area.
In addition to the certificate programs which GHarvard Christian University offers, you may develop your own program with the assistance of the school Principal. This can be personalized to your specific needs by choosing courses of interest from our various majors and programs.
Associate Degree programs require a total of 60 credits of work. This degree is ideal if you have not completed any other college program and are only interested in a very focused area of study. You can transfer up to 30 credits toward this degree through transcripts from other institution or schools or documented life experience, decreasing your required courses to just 10.
Note: A minimum of 30 credits needed to be awarded a degree from GHCU. Credits may be earned from other institutions and for life experience or ministry of the word. Any student file for Life experience credits and credit transfer must submit their portfolio to firstname.lastname@example.org within 30 days of enrollment which can reduce the amount of credits needed to graduate.
BACHELOR DEGREE PROGRAMS
Bachelor Degrees require a total of 128 credits of work. This is generally the first level of higher education after high school, and because of the large number of credits required, tends to provide a broad-based foundation in a number of subjects.
You may bring in up to 60 credits toward this degree through transcripts from other schools or documented life experience.
Notes: A maximum of 80 credits may be earned for the total of both transfer credits from ministry, Schools, colleges/universities/ or other institutions and from credits earned for life experience. Of these 80, no more than 30 may come from credits earned for life experience.
Practicum give you opportunity to explore various aspects of the area you are pursuing. For example, if you are training for prophetic, your practicum could include teaching in prophetic class, junior high school, high school, adult education, prophetic outreach, special education, various specialized subject areas, learning centers, etc. You will also take several courses of your choosing in your specialized area of vocational calling or ministry, granting you understanding to couple with the skills you are learning. The required courses empower you with the Scriptures and in interacting with the creative Spirit of Almighty God. A minimum of practicum hours are required for each degree majors and programs.
MASTER DEGREE PROGRAMS
Master Degrees require a total of 60 credits beyond a bachelor degree. Students enrolling in a Master program will need to submit an official transcript for their bachelor degree.
If your undergraduate (i.e. bachelor) degree is in an area of Bible or ministry, or is from a Christian school and included courses in Bible or ministry, you will have the option of bringing in up to 20 credits toward this degree through transcripts from other schools or documented life experience. If your undergraduate degree is in a field unrelated to spiritual knowledge, all 60 credits must be earned from GHCU.
These degrees require 60 credits of work beyond the Bachelor’s level and are offered for those who desire specialized advanced training in a specific area. Since the student is at a point of developing mastery in his life, one demonstration of this mastery will be the student’s involvement in working in conjunction with his counselors in selecting the courses for his degree.
The 60-credit Master degrees will include GHCU courses, a Master thesis/ Dissertation and practicum.
The student may take any of the undergraduate courses on the graduate level.
Many students come to GHCU with a B.A. from another college and University. They desire to take the unique courses which GHCU has developed and offered on the undergraduate level. This can be accomplished in the following ways.
You will begin with the course syllabus for the undergraduate course. This will lay out a foundational program in the area of your interest and will require two or three resources for your meditation. You will complete this and add further research, study and meditation choosing one of the suggestions below. A three-credit course would still be worth three credits. There are several possible avenues you may pursue, including but not limited to the following:
- You may read other books on the topic and write a report on them. This report should include:
- Student Name, Address, Degree Program, Email, and Date
- A summary of the truths, principles and concepts taught in the book;
- A personal insights of what your inside has said to you specifically through the book; and
- Any ways in which your life has been changed as a result of your meditation on this book/subject.
- You may do a research project based on other than biblical sources on a topic related to any of the course objectives[Topic must be approved by school principal].
- You may prepare an original sermon, Bible study, study guide, or other instructional format to present what you have learned [A minimum of 10,000 words]
- You may teach the 16-week course to a group after you have completed it. If you choose this option, you will receive one extra credit free of charge.
Notes: It is required for student to post at least a blog per week in the student blog page. This can be about any course, personal testimony, personal experience, comment or a revelation etc. any an appropriate contents/video will be removed from the blog.
